About this workshop: Perimenopause and menopause are topics that are frequently ignored, under prioritized and misunderstood. This is true within the larger socio-cultural conversation, and unfortunately—within health care as well. So it’s no wonder that even those of us who experience these fundamental times of transition feel like we are in the dark. In this workshop, Jya Plavin MPH, CPT, will dive into the fundamental facts, and how we can best support our bodies and our health through midlife and beyond. Topics will include:
How do we define and talk about perimenopause and menopause?
What’s happening hormonally during this transition and why does it matter?
Peri/menopause and pelvic floor health.
Foundational health habits as we age.
Specific, achievable skills and training goals to support our movement, recovery, and overall health through midlife and beyond.
